Dino Stamatopoulos new show Mary Shelley's Frankenhole!

Well we know what Star-burns has been up to between seasons of Community!  The first season of Mary Shelley's Frankenhole debuted June 27 at 12:30a ET and Adult Swim has the web site up for the show as well as a very telling interview into the genius mind of of Dino Stamatopoulos!

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

Why should people watch Frankenhole?

I really have no idea why they should watch it. It's actually a show that looks nothing like any other show ever on TV because of the way these puppets were made. Because there were so many likenesses of people in the show, we decided early on that we can't really afford to sculpt all these heads so I went to the puppet guy and said, "It would be nice if we could take pictures of famous people and wrap them around these puppets." A South Park kind of quality, only more three-dimensional. So he developed this strange, beautiful origami to wrap these paper pictures around, and it looks pretty amazing.

After Moral Orel ended, what made you go forward with Frankenhole?

I kind of mentioned it half-heartedly to Nick Weidenfeld and he said, "Whoa, wait! That's a great idea!" And I didn't really get to the rest, and I'm like, "Really? I didn't think anyone would care about old-timey monsters." And he's like, "No, it's great! It's got time travel, it's got famous people. Fantastic!" Yeah, it was a pretty easy sell.

I'm actually very bad at pitching. When I pitched Moral Orel to Nick I was hungover probably. We started off having a very nice conversation and then I went into the pitch and I got the pages in my hands, and they're trembling. I'm really bad at pitching. He said, "Forget it! Just send me those pages." And he got the pages, read them, and picked up the show.

What episode do you think is going to be the most offensive or get the biggest reaction?

We have a very broad smorgasbord of offensiveness on the show. I hesitate to say because I don't want to spotlight any episode and make it a bullseye. We were very concerned about the Thomas Jefferson one. But we made some cuts and edits which I think helped a lot. We had interns and animators refuse to work on the show because of it. And I don't blame them. I think the way the show was-it was written by a couple of comedy guys who were just trying to get laughs and we became a little more socially conscious after that and scaled back on a lot of stuff.

Some people might be offended by the Barack Obama appearance in there. What's funniest about it, though, is the total non-attempt to impersonate his voice.

Well, I was just never concerned with any of the celebrity voices sounding so much like them. I do Mother Teresa as a screechy foreign woman that I'm sure isn't accurate.

"Alison Brie Loves Kissing Joel McHale!" New interview with Alison!

www.popeater.com has a great interview with Alison Brie where she gives us the scoop on what its like kissing Joel Mchale the secret of Starburns and where the Annie/Jeff relationship is going to go.

Alison Officially confirmed what Dan Harmon had hinted at about the DVD’s, that we will get commentaries’ on all 25 episodes and that Dan Harmon will be in them all!

Yeah, but what about kissing Joel?

[Laughter] I will say, on the record, that ... it ain't bad. Joel's definitely a good sport. I can see the headline now: "Alison Brie Loves Kissing Joel McHale!" I would say the guy's a good kisser because he's got a lot of practice. Basically any woman that comes on the show eventually kisses Joel McHale. He's been around the block, ya know [laughs].

Star-Burns (Dino Stamatopoulos), what's his secret?

Dino's one of our writers and he sort of got thrown into the part, originally. It's a character that people have just grown to love, and I think Dino likes playing it more now. In the beginning, I think he felt like he sort of fell into this role. I don't think he knew how big it was going to be. Luckily, he likes to keep a beard anyway, so I think the star burns kind of get lost in the beard and when it's time, he'll just shave them again. He's getting really good at shaving those stars. I think for a while, he was the most recognizable person on the show, other than Joel and Chevy [Chase].

Were you really in a 'Hannah Montana' episode?

I was! It was my first TV job out of college. It was the first season of 'Hannah Montana,' so before all the hype or before Miley Cyrus blew up. So, I had no idea what it was, I was just, 'Yea, I booked a Disney show' and I get to work for a couple days. I had no idea where it was gonna go.

Preview of Dino Stamatopoulos and Mary Shelley's Frankenhole

Dino Stamatopoulos who plays Star-burns on Community and is a writer on the show has a new animated series premiering on Adult Swim called Mary Shelley's Frankenhole. Dino Stamatopoulos is also the creator of the Adult Swim series Moral Orel.

From the looks of this preview clip the show is going to be amazing!  I can not wait.

New Poll results: Who would you want for a roommate?

New poll results are in and Abed won the most votes! Thats right... 47 percent of you would rather room with Abed than any other character.
Interesting enough Jeff, Pierce and Troy tied for second to last with just one percent! Sorry Shirley but rooming with a single mom does not scream of Animal House. Even Star-burns 2 percent! I'm sure Dino will be very excited! I thought Annie was a shoe-in.

Exclusive Interview: Greendale Community Talks to Dino Stamatopoulos about embracing “Star-Burns” and mixing comedy and Vodka

For Greendale Community’s first exclusive interview I had the chance to speak to Dino Stamatopoulos, who you all know as “Star-burns” on Community. What you may not know is that in addition to being a consultant on Community he has written for virtually every funny show for the last 20 years. His writing credits include “The Ben Stiller Show,” "Mr. Show with Bob and David," "TV Funhouse," in addition to creating the masterpiece "Moral Orel" for Adult Swim. He is now working on a new stop-motion animation show for Adult swim called “Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenhole.” I recently had the chance to speak to him about Community and some of his other projects.

You’ve been a part of most of the funniest shows of the past couple decades starting with The Ben Stiller Show but you mostly worked as a writer in the past how did you become involved with Community and as an actor?

I'm a consultant on Community, which means I go in a couple days a week and try to say funny things that go in the script. I think at some point they thought, "Hey, the best way to use Dino is to have him try out our weirder jokes on camera." That's what they did with Star-burns. I got a text from Dan Harmon (who was probably three feet away at the time) that said, "quit shaving. We may need you for star burns." It was a non-speaking part at the time and I thought, "What the fuck. Couldn't hurt." Then it eventually turned into a reoccurring part and I got a little scared. I was very busy with Frankenhole and TV wastes a lot of time. I ended up sitting on the Community set for hours before they used me. Well, eventually, I embraced doing the part. I even grew the star burns onto my own face instead of having the make-up person apply them.

Did the writers give you any direction on the character of Star-burns?
