Funniest Chevy lines: S01e10

This episode was a good one for the ol’ one liners!

In response to Green Week:

“First we give a month to black history and now we’re blowing seven days on the Irish.”

“You know if Senor Chang gets any crazier he’s gonna win one of those Grammy Awards.”

“If he gets any nuttier their going put him on the view.”

UPDATE: after my original post I have received a number of e-mails insisting that I add another line from the episode… so by popular demand:

“Go tongue Chang!”

Poll Results:

Well the people have spoken and despite mood swings, bringing his personal life to work and being overly sensitive to Asian stereotypes, the winner is Ben Chang A.K.A. "EL TIGRE." Yes that’s right, more of you would rather attend intro to Spanish with Senor Chang over Professor Whitman’s easy “A” accounting class. Congrats Senor Chang… it must be your dancing!

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo getting back into the Family Truckster

Well after Chris over at The Chevy Chase Show broke the news the other day about Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo getting back into the Family Truckster as Clark and Ellen Griswold in a new Superbowl ad the internet has exploded with mixed reaction!

The ad will air Feb. 7 2010 during the Superbowl and is for HomeAway vacation rentals and will be Chase's first Superbowl ad since 1993.

Seeing that National Lampoon’s Vacation is my all time favorite movie, I am excited and hope that this will bring some attention back to the series. Chase and D'Angelo have not reprised their classic roles since their brilliant cameo on the Family Guy’s Star Wars episode in 2007.

Remember a few weeks back stories broke that a new Vacation film is underway with a grown up Rusty Griswold taking the helm. Hopefully this renewed interest will show Warner Brothers that Chevy Chase is a Movie star and should star in his own film. Fingers crossed.

Exclusive Interview: Greendale Community Talks to Dino Stamatopoulos about embracing “Star-Burns” and mixing comedy and Vodka

For Greendale Community’s first exclusive interview I had the chance to speak to Dino Stamatopoulos, who you all know as “Star-burns” on Community. What you may not know is that in addition to being a consultant on Community he has written for virtually every funny show for the last 20 years. His writing credits include “The Ben Stiller Show,” "Mr. Show with Bob and David," "TV Funhouse," in addition to creating the masterpiece "Moral Orel" for Adult Swim. He is now working on a new stop-motion animation show for Adult swim called “Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenhole.” I recently had the chance to speak to him about Community and some of his other projects.

You’ve been a part of most of the funniest shows of the past couple decades starting with The Ben Stiller Show but you mostly worked as a writer in the past how did you become involved with Community and as an actor?

I'm a consultant on Community, which means I go in a couple days a week and try to say funny things that go in the script. I think at some point they thought, "Hey, the best way to use Dino is to have him try out our weirder jokes on camera." That's what they did with Star-burns. I got a text from Dan Harmon (who was probably three feet away at the time) that said, "quit shaving. We may need you for star burns." It was a non-speaking part at the time and I thought, "What the fuck. Couldn't hurt." Then it eventually turned into a reoccurring part and I got a little scared. I was very busy with Frankenhole and TV wastes a lot of time. I ended up sitting on the Community set for hours before they used me. Well, eventually, I embraced doing the part. I even grew the star burns onto my own face instead of having the make-up person apply them.

Did the writers give you any direction on the character of Star-burns?

Check it out here: ask Alison Brie and Donald Glover 20 questions

Donald wants to get Martin Luther King drunk and Alison wants to “romp around a room half-naked with a bottle of champagne.” This is some article!

We also learn that Donald will be singing in an upcoming episode and that Ghostbusters is one of Alison’s favorite movies… I think I’m in love.

Getting rid of Britta full video

I hate to be one of those sites that just post videos all the time but this is just to funny to pass up. NBC has released the full music video of Pierce and Vaughn’s new song “Getting rid of Britta!”

Well everybody and their sister has already reported this but for those of you living under a rock or just on Vacation it seems Anthony Michael Hall will be guest staring on Community. Apparently he will be playing a dick (see Edward Scissorhands for an example) and hopefully give Chevy a chance to look funny at his former son!

The Greendale Community Blog Vacation

Sorry we have been short on post lately but I have been on Vacation! The idea of me on vacation is laughable considering my life is a vacation but that is my excuse for no post. So sit back and get filled with a week of old news you’ve already heard!
