Alison Brie and Danny Pudi Talk About Community's Love Connections and Politics

Buzzsugar.com has a new interview with Alison Brie and Danny Pudi about the future of
Community and tonight’s all new episode!

Will we see anything happen between Annie and Jeff in the future?
Alison Brie: You know, I still think that Annie holds a little flame for Jeff. We saw [it] in an episode when we first came back and Rich comes on the scene; you can tell that Jeff gets a little bit jealous. I think that there is a bit of a push and pull between the two of them, and actually in this episode that we're talking about, there's a bit of that tension there as well, throughout the election. I think that their bumping heads kind of fuels more of that. I think that anytime they're together, there's a bit of that, because it can't exist, or because it's controversial. I think that makes it dangerous and interesting, and obviously to Annie, it's exciting to have a crush on an older guy, and she continues to try to challenge Jeff in that way. That spark is not totally dead. You may catch glimpses of it in this episode. We shall see . . . we'll have to wait and see if it amounts to anything.

Do Troy and Abed (In the morning) have any dream guests?
DP: I'd like to see Howard Stern . . . I'd actually like to see Chevy Chase. Not Pierce, but Chevy Chase.

How close did Annie and Britta get close to kissing on the Valentine's day episode?
AB: It was such a funny thing because it wasn't in the script, we just sort of improvised it while we were doing it, and then one of our producers was there and was like, "Oh that's so great, I'll just yell 'kiss her,' and then you guys do that!" And everyone behind the monitor was like "Yeaaah." It was clearly a bunch of dudes.
DP: Yeah, it was crazy that we were so excited about that. It was crazy to see that actually end up in an episode too, because we were so excited about it.
AB: I couldn't believe they kept it in, to be honest. But I have to say we really didn't get that close to kissing. I think we actually got closer to kissing in a photograph that one of our writers posted on Twitter. Like behind the scenes on set is just a bit more racy than our on-camera work.

Collection of Sexy Alison Brie Photos!

Okay maybe we are pandering but what better way to get you all ready for tonight's all new episode of Community?

Okay, you have seen most of these before but how about a refresher? These are some of my favorite pictures from various Alison photos!

What kind of man does Alison Want?  That and many more answers will be answered here… but just look at the pictures all ready!

From Menshealth.com:
Make a memorable entrance
Brie says, "The first thing I notice about a man is how he carries himself—the way a man enters a room can be incredibly sexy."
Your move: "Before entering a room, exhale gently, pulling your belly button toward your spine," says Janice Novak, M.S., author of Posture, Get It Straight! "Your abs will contract, aligning your lower back, flattening your stomach, and making you look confident and fit."
Be dynamic
Brie says, "It sounds so old-fashioned, but I want a guy who's sensitive enough to understand what I'm going through and who will defend my honor."
Your move: A 2008 study in the journal Personal Relationships reports that women tend to prefer men who are competitive in athletics but not in relationships. So let her see you fired up, but never direct it at her. Your competitiveness should work for her—you're a team.
Create compatibility
Brie says, "If our kissing isn't in sync, it's over."
Your move: Every first kiss is a little awkward, so quickly learn her likes and dislikes—with your hands. "For a woman, hands are part of kissing—how you touch her or pull her closer," says Dorree Lynn, Ph.D., author of Sex for Grownups. More contact leads to more signals; whenever she pulls toward you or mirrors your moves, note what you did to trigger it. Then repeat.

Annie and Professor Duncan? New Interview with Alison Brie!:

Entertainment weekly’s Popwatch has a new interview with Alison Brie about season two, her predictions and same spoilers!

Here are the highlights:

…Who would you like to see from Annie’s past?
I would love to see some stuff — just because I like to play things that are a little edgy and out there — I would love to see some blasts from the past from her drug-induced days.

Her days as Annie Adderall?!
Yeah! Her Adderall days — maybe some of her junkie friends. Or maybe she has a relapse. I just think that would be funny. Although, I also wonder about her parents. We’ve been working on our holiday episode, which is going to be a very special episode. I don’t think I can say anything about it, but it’s very exciting. And with the holidays, you always get into exploring family, and what the holidays mean to you — that sort of thing. So I talked to Dan Harmon a bit about what the holidays mean to me, helping him form Annie. And it just made me think, “Oh, that’s something we don’t know about her.” And because she’s one of the younger characters, I think it would be interesting to see how her parents have influenced her. Her upbringing must have influenced her uptightness.

…I know Dan recently said in an interview that he assembled the cast to be sort of romantically interchangeable should he want to pair up anyone at any time. Who do you think is Annie’s next romantic conquest?
It sort of narrows the playing field because she started with a crush on Troy [Donald Glover], she dated Vaughn [Eric Christian Olsen], she had a little something with Jeff, so it’s sort of like “Who’s left?” To be honest, I always tell them John Oliver. I think it’d be funny. Talk about taboo! I’m like, “Come on!” Last season, we did the psychology episode, and it was our fourth episode we ever shot, and he and I did this experiment where we stayed up all night. There was this one scene where we were both wearing argyle, and I was like “It’s a sign! They both like argyle! They should be together.” There’s just something I think that’d be funny about Annie and John Oliver’s character. [Imitates swooning Annie] Professor Duncan.

See, I would have initially said Abed (Danny Pudi), but now that I think about it, I see them more as a musical duo.
They’re buddies. It’s true! I always want to get paired with Danny for storylines, but not romantically. I love the character Abed, but I like his friendship with all the characters. That’s sort of how Danny is in real life, too. He’s friends with everyone. He’s everyone’s favorite. And I think Danny and Annie have cute rapport and that they’re a cute duo friend-wise. But Professor Duncan — I don’t know why. I guess because I think Annie has that sexy schoolgirl thing going on — not that she’s super sexy, but she has that forbidden fruit thing going on. So why not be super taboo about it and have her be hot for teacher? [Laughs]

The complete opposite of what that character is supposed to be. I love it.
Exactly. I think that’s why people fantasize about girls in schoolgirl outfits. It makes you think “slutty nerd,” [or] “sexy schoolgirl.” Incongruities are what people like.

Alison Brie and Joel McHale: Character Insight and Joel on getting a third breast!!

digitalspy.com reports on why Alison relates to Annie:
"I connect with the fact that she didn't come out of her shell until college, where there is this sea of boys and every one is a possibility," she said.
"Dan Harmon, the creator, recently said the character of Annie is becoming more sexual because he's taking a cue from me. I was like, 'Wait! Wait! Does that mean you think I'm sexy?' I'll take that."
Brie also suggested that Annie will begin to soften slightly, saying: "She has had some crying episodes. And she has never been popular, so I think anything threatening the group would be a real jolt to her otherwise composed demeanour."
Brie added that Annie may like being dominated in the future because it would be "a break from her uptightness" and explained that she understands that.
"Like Annie, I think I had a lot of innocence - and I somehow still do," she said. "I try to be very much in control when it comes to work. I have a strong work ethic. So I suppose there would be some room for domination."
Check out the full article here: http://www.digitalspy.com/ustv/news/a255376/brie-understands-community-character.html
Joel had a chance to clown around with hitfix.com and gave us something to look forward to in the second season!
"The good news is that... all the questions left hanging in the season finale are answered head-on, there's no ignoring of any of the issues left hanging. And Betty White," he slyly mentions. The hot-topic "Golden Girls" gal will play an anthropology professor at Greendale Community College this fall. Will she be on for more than one episode? "I hope she does. Betty, please."
McHale also teased that his character will be sporting a new breast in the middle of his torso and that he's been brushing up on his (South) German accent.

LA Times gets Sexy With Alison Brie

We can thank the LA times for this great Photo and 10 questions with Alison.
From the LA Times:

1. How much of you is in Community’s Annie?
I connect with the fact that she didn’t come out of her shell until college, where there is this sea of boys, and every one of them is a possibility. Dan Harmon, the creator, recently said the character of Annie is becoming more sexual because he’s taking a cue from me. I was like, “Wait, wait! Does that mean you think I’m sexy?” I’ll take that.

2. Perhaps it had something to do with Worst Laid Plans. You called yourself a “self-proclaimed captain of coitus.”
Out of context, it seems very graphic, but it was meant solely for comedy. It stemmed from an Upright Citizens Brigade show, with the most amazing people [Amy Poehler and Janeane Garofalo among them]. Even though college was an experimental time, I definitely embellished to set the story in a more humorous context. I was also sure my story was going to be buried in this book—37 other brilliant actors contributed. When I saw the reaction, I called my mom and said, “Hey, remember that story? People think I’m a freaky freak now.”

3. Annie is so incredibly buttoned down. Are we ever going to see her flip out?
She has had some crying episodes. And she has never been popular, so I think anything threatening the group would be a real jolt to her otherwise composed demeanor.

4. Does she secretly want to dominate or be dominated?
She’s in control so much that maybe being dominated would be a break from her uptightness. She’s like a schoolgirl you want to be naughty with. You know, What is under the blouse that’s buttoned up so high?

5. Is there any of that in you?
Like Annie, I think I had a lot of innocence—and I somehow still do. I try to be very much in control when it comes to work. I have a strong work ethic. So, I suppose there would some be room for domination.

6. Okay, over to Mad Men—and we’re so glad it’s back, by the way. I read that creator Matt Weiner said Trudy is just like you.
I get pigeonholed into type-A personality characters, but I’m really not type A. I’m kind of a spaz. I think the common link between Trudy, Annie and myself is drive.

7. Is there a character you are dying to play?
I always wanted to play a mental patient. I was fascinated with playing crazy people in college, and I don’t know if I ever quite perfected it.

8. Do you think “sexy” has an age limit?
Not if you can still have fun with it. I think owning your sexuality is great—having a sense of humor about it is even better.

9. Is there a male celebrity who knocks your socks off?
Robert Downey Jr. He is such a talented actor, and I think I have always been more attracted to talent than I have been to people’s appearance. But yes, he is very hot.

10. You did a Charleston on Mad Men recently. Do you have a favorite style of dance?
Honestly, my favorite kind of dancing is just lettin’ loose. There’s something great about the carefree flinging of your body to great music. It can be so joyous. And when you have great friends to dance with, that’s a really fun time. My favorite kind of dance to watch is ballet. I’m in such awe of what the human body is capable of. Watching it brings up a combination of awe and jealousy—a good jealousy, though.

"Alison Brie Loves Kissing Joel McHale!" New interview with Alison!

www.popeater.com has a great interview with Alison Brie where she gives us the scoop on what its like kissing Joel Mchale the secret of Starburns and where the Annie/Jeff relationship is going to go.

Alison Officially confirmed what Dan Harmon had hinted at about the DVD’s, that we will get commentaries’ on all 25 episodes and that Dan Harmon will be in them all!

Great news!

Here are a few highlights from the article:
Yeah, but what about kissing Joel?
[Laughter] I will say, on the record, that ... it ain't bad. Joel's definitely a good sport. I can see the headline now: "Alison Brie Loves Kissing Joel McHale!" I would say the guy's a good kisser because he's got a lot of practice. Basically any woman that comes on the show eventually kisses Joel McHale. He's been around the block, ya know [laughs].

Star-Burns (Dino Stamatopoulos), what's his secret?
Dino's one of our writers and he sort of got thrown into the part, originally. It's a character that people have just grown to love, and I think Dino likes playing it more now. In the beginning, I think he felt like he sort of fell into this role. I don't think he knew how big it was going to be. Luckily, he likes to keep a beard anyway, so I think the star burns kind of get lost in the beard and when it's time, he'll just shave them again. He's getting really good at shaving those stars. I think for a while, he was the most recognizable person on the show, other than Joel and Chevy [Chase].

Were you really in a 'Hannah Montana' episode?
I was! It was my first TV job out of college. It was the first season of 'Hannah Montana,' so before all the hype or before Miley Cyrus blew up. So, I had no idea what it was, I was just, 'Yea, I booked a Disney show' and I get to work for a couple days. I had no idea where it was gonna go.

Thanks to Steven at popeater.com for the tip!

Alison Brie and Yvette Nicole Brown talk Community and income!

While on the promotion trip to Canada CityTV was able to catch up with Yvette Nicole Brown and Alison Brie for a quick interview where they discuss the atmosphere of the set and just what they are doing with the steady income!  There’s even a little hint of what we can look forward to on the upcoming DVD!

Brie: It’s such a fun atmosphere, it’s incredible. I wonder if people sometimes think that we’re lying because we’re always, like, “It’s so much fun!” It’s –

Brown: It’s like a playground.

Brie: That’s what I always equate it to. Wild kids –

Brown: On a playground.

Brie: Because we go nuts. We get a little batty. Silly.

Brown: Naughty! The thing is, everybody is funny in a different way, and everybody enjoys making each other laugh.

Brie: And even though we have different styles of comedy that we work with, I think our senses of humour –

Brown: Are identical.

Brie: Which is a good thing, because on our set, I feel like some of the things we say are so out there –

Brown: You giggle. We work really long hours, but –

Brie: It’s worth it –

Brown: Because we’re all together and it’s a great time.

Brie: It doesn’t feel long.

Despite the long hours, the cast has multiple projects on the go. Brie has a recurring role as Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, and Brown is in the process of making a television cartoon.  Community was picked up for a second season, which means both actors are now slightly pickier about the projects they choose.

“It’s no longer doing jobs because you have to. My mortgage will be paid now,” Brown says.
“It’s as steady as an income as any of us have ever had,” Brie agrees.

Like Pudi and Glover, Brown and Brie are both active on Twitter.

“I realized the other day that I have 8,000 tweets, and that’s mostly me responding, going “thank you,”” Brown said.

“And I promote the crap out of Community online. Everybody Thursday, I’m like tweeting like crazy,” she added.

There are other benefits too.

“It’s so cool, the immediacy of Twitter. You really have a sense of, oh, people liked this episode. People watched this episode. It’s easy to get bogged down with ratings and networks and all this business stuff that’s really out of our control. It’s nice to have this one place, this one forum, where it’s all about the episode,” Brie said.

Those episodes will be available on DVD this summer.

Brown: It’s the whole first season, with extras and bloopers and –

Brie: I hope they give tons of extras because I can’t even tell you –

Brown: The funny stuff that doesn’t make it.

Alison Brie on being one of the sexiest women alive!

Alison and some of the Community gang were just in Canada promoting Community and she had a chance for a quick interview with the Edmonton sun. In the interview she talked about her experience cracking the Maxim hot 100 and explained her plans to climb the charts for next year!

“When you say ‘cracked’, you ain’t jokin,’ ” Brie said with a laugh. “I will remind you, I was No. 99 on the list. So I just made it. Maybe next year when I’m No. 94, then I really can start to diva it up on set.
“I got some tips on it, actually. Olivia Munn, who was No. 8 this year and is a friend of mine, gave me some tips on how to work your way up the Maxim Hot 100 list. The tips are totally secret, I’m not sharing them with anyone. You’ll have to see next year if it’s working.
“It’ll be like watching your favourite song climb the charts - one of the most important charts in the history of mankind.”

Alison Brie Returns to Mad Men and scoops about Community too!

Get ready Alison fans! EW’s Eric Ausiello caught up with her on the red carpet and nabbed a few spoilers about her return to Mad Men and the second season of Community!

From the ausiellofiles.ew.com:

Alison on her return to Mad Men:
“To go back to Mad Men this summer after eight months of constant work on Community playing just about the opposite character was really daunting,” she conceded. “I was very nervous I’d forgotten how to be Trudy. But then you put on the clothes and get the hair done and it is like you never left. Welcome back to the ’60s. Without prodding, I’m like, ‘The pot roast is ready!’” Um, pot roast?! There’s going to be a pot roast in season 4?! Reminded of Mad Men creator Matt Weiner’s strict no-spoiler policy, Brie faux backtracked. “Uh oh… I may get fired now,” she joked. “Great. S–t. Thank God we got a second season of Community. But maybe I don’t make a pot roast. You never know. Maybe I’m just saying that to send you down the wrong scoop path. Insert evil laugh.” Insert me saying I love this woman!

Alison on Community season 2:
Ausiello: As much as Allison Brie loved the cliff-hangery Annie-Jeff smooch, she’s worried about the havoc it could wreak in season 2. “It is a bit of a controversial thing,” she acknowledged. “I do think that she and Jeff have a special connection, but it may behoove them to just stay friends. I don’t like that it puts Annie and Britta’s relationship in jeopardy and could threaten the group dynamic. I hope that Annie and Britta are not enemies at any point next year. I have faith that it won’t get too soap opera-y. I don’t think I will be killing Britta’s dad who turns out to be my dad also but then I get amnesia and you realize it is my evil twin that did the whole thing.” Am I alone in thinking that, if done right, that could be an awesome story?

Jeff, Annie and the "Ick" factor.

TVSquad.com has an article addressing the “ick” factor between Jeff and Annie and how Dan Harmon and company may deal with it.  From TVsquad.com
But that affection between Annie and Jeff hasn't always felt romantic, mainly because Dan Harmon and his writing staff wrote themselves into a bit of a corner by making Annie a true college freshman. In other words, the character is 18, 19 at the most. And, considering Joel McHale is playing a character in his late thirties, the only way that affection can work is if they feel more like brother and sister than anything else.

And, even though Jeff and Annie have kissed before, the kiss at the end of the season finale was something completely different. But, because of the characters' age difference, the only word that came to mind while I watched it was "ick."
But by throwing Jeff and Annie together, Harmon and crew have acknowledged that they made a mistake. All season, they've addressed the fact that Jeff was old enough to be Annie's very young father, but they knew that putting them together was full of comic possibilities. And they realize that Brie can pull the romance off, because she comes off more like a 30-year-old than a teenager.
So, how will they deal with the age difference next season?
1. Mine it for laughs. Jeff is a cradle robber. Annie is dating an old man. Everyone at Greendale looks at them like they're freaks. Heck, we could even see Pierce (Chevy Chase) and Jeff bond over their lust for much younger women. There are a lot of funny ways this can go, and the writers of 'Community' might be just daring enough to go there.
2. Magically age Annie. This can be done one of two ways: she just starts the season at 25 without explanation, or Harmon builds a story about how Annie forged her birth certificate to play field hockey in high school or something like that. Once we all made the connection that Brie also played Trudy Campbell on 'Mad Men,' the idea that she was 19 went out the window, anyway.
3. Ignore it. Just don't address it. There's plenty about Annie and Jeff -- like Jeff telling the study group to ignore her Disney Face -- that's funny without having to address the age difference at all.

What do you guys think… can they pull it off or will their be a twist ahead?

Check out the full article here.
